Pop-Up Programs
Drop In Printmaking with Ben Muñoz
Ben Muñoz is a Texas based painter, printmaker, and educator whose work reflects his cultural heritage, upbringing, and current surroundings. Participants were able to choose from several of Muñoz’s designs to create a T-shirt.
Art Confessional with Jennifer Wester
Jennifer Wester is an MFA candidate at SMU in Dallas, Texas. What started as a project in Italy, has made several US appearances, including one in the Meadows Museum galleries. Wester listened as visitors confessed their inner-most thoughts on a work on view.
Dallas Public Library
I have done two pop-up programs for the Dallas Public Library.
The first was a workshop on art and social justice. Participants learned about how they can use art to bring attention to issues that they care about. Participants created protest posters.
The second program focused on public art. Participants learned about artists that exhibited their artwork in the public realm. We created models for our own public art pieces out of construction paper.
North Park Center
During the North Park Center event of North Texas Giving Day's Kids Give, participants created eco-friendly origami and notes of well wishes for patients of the local children's hospital.
